Greek restaurant, know for their grilling, especially for Lamb Shank. You either have an entré or have a number of appetizers. Their galaktoburito is out of this world.
Rangoon Ruby – http://www.rangoonruby.com/
This is our favorite place in Palo Alto. Their excellent service helps us get our group in eventhough they are busy. The food is excellent as well, they are know for their Tea Leaf salad – a Must!
Taiphoon – http://www.thaiphoonrestaurant.com/
There are several Thai places nearby, but this is the best. Try their white fish-withi-that-sauce
Steam – http://steampaloalto.com/
Hong Kong style dim sum. We even had a member from Hong Kong certify that it’s the real thing. Try a bunch of the dumplings, especially when you are sharing
Nola – http://www.nolas.com/index.html
The name stands for New Orleads Louisiana, it’s a Cajun cuisine and soutern cocktails. Their Mohitos are excellent, try the pomagrenate or the strawberry ginger. Their appetizers are excellent as well as main dishes.
La Strada – http://www.lastradapaloalto.com/
Another great italian. Excellent Pizzas.
Joya – http://www.joyarestaurant.com/
Spanish inspired. Although they have food options, I recommend it for the drinks.
Cafe Venitia – http://www.cafevenetia.com/
Our favorite Café. They make very good coffee, their hot chocolate is phenomenal – start by trying the milk based hot chocolate.
Coupa Café – http://www.coupacafe.com/
Another great café with full food options. Their have great coffee and maya inspired hot chocolate (spicy).
California Avenue
La bodeguita Medio – http://www.labodeguita.com/
Cuban restaurant. Exquisite cocktails and great food. They have a nice bar area if you just want a drink.
Cafe Pastis – http://www.pastispaloalto.com/
Excellent brunch place. When they have it, their lamb shank sandwitch is great, otherwise the omelettes and their Parisien french toast is excellent.
The Counter – http://www.thecounterburger.com/
Burgers – all size and shape! Weekly special as well as fully customizable options. Great milkshakes too – especially when you add some baileys to the orea shake.
